Physical Education and Co-Curricular Programme
Physical Education
Curriculum
Cardiovascular Training will be conducted for the students in Term 1 and Term 2. It aims to prepare students for AJC Cross-Country, NAPFA and Track and Field Meet.
The JC2 students will begin on their sports and games curricular after their NAPFA. They get to learn the basic skills and games concepts on at least 1 sport.
As the JC 1 students do not take their NAPFA Tests until mid-May each year, they will only embark on skills acquisition in Term 3.
The entire Term 3 will focus on the learning of basic game skills. The students will get to play together in teams during the lessons and put Sporting Values into action.
Dance modules which include Folk Dances and Line Dances will be covered in Term 4 for all students. Dance allows the students to express themselves in a different manner, thus enhancing their non-verbal communication and allowing them to break away from academic work for a short rest. The students will also learn more on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle during the health talks scheduled in Term 4.
Co-Curricular Programme
AJC’s CCAs are a significant part of a student’s college experience. They enrich school life, enhance a student’s social and emotional well-being and provide a platform outside the formal curriculum for the holistic development of the student. While offering opportunities for the acquisition of skills in pursuit of one’s passion, AJC’s CCAs provide healthy recreation, instil self-discipline and esprit de corps among students and are excellent avenues for acquiring life-skills such as leadership, teamwork and resilience.
CCA Membership
Because CCAs are an integral part of a student’s holistic development, AJCians are expected to join a CCA from the many offered by the college. A minimum 80% attendance rate is required for one to be recognised as a member of a CCA.

CCA Programme
To ensure quality CCA programmes, professional instructors and coaches are engaged to provide a comprehensive and rigorous training programme. Ample opportunities are available for students to apply the skills taught in their CCAs, e.g. competitions, overseas exchange programmes, performances, service-learning projects. Many of these activities are initiated by the student leaders in the respective CCAs.
Recognition of CCA involvement
The college recognises students who have contributed through their CCAs and have demonstrated good character, leadership and teamwork in their CCAs. Each year, CCA teachers nominate deserving JC2 students for the college’s various CCA Awards. A student’s CCA involvement and achievements can also be reflected in the student’s school graduation certificate (SGC) as well as his/her CCA Testimonial.
