National Education

Our vision for NE@AJC, Think | Feel | Act, states succinctly the three key outcomes our NE programme aspires to facilitate in our students and the three guiding principles that shape the design and implementation of our college NE programme.

Think refers to the ability of AJC students to:
•    Construct an informed opinion about national and international issues
•    Appreciate rights and responsibilities as citizens
•    Appreciate importance of racial harmony

Feel refers to the ability of AJC students to:
•    Empathise with fellow human beings who may be different
•    Feel a sense of belonging to the community and nation
•    Feel confident about the future of the nation

Act refers to the ability of AJC students to:
•    Take personal ownership of community and national issues that desire action
•    Advocate such issues to bring about changes through responsible platforms and methods

Programmes
The college NE programme includes:
•    Engaging students in thinking and conversing about NE issues through curriculum infusion, CCA and non-academic activities, and Civics lessons.
•    Encouraging student involvement and initiative in NE-related activities, such as organizing NE Core events like National Day or student forums on National Education.
•    Engaging external organisations such as Mindef to implement the NE programme.
•    Encouraging community involvement through attachments to grassroots organizations and community involvement projects.
